Net Price Calculator
Before using the Federal Net Price Calculator,
please read this page carefully…
This Department of Education Net Price Calculator is designed to help prospective students understand the actual cost of post-secondary education.
The calculator provides estimates and is not intended to represent a final determination of student aid awards or net price. The student answers 10 questions or fewer based on his or her dependency status. Name and contact information are not requested.
The student is asked the following questions to determine dependency and an Estimate of Family Contribution (EFC):
• What is the student’s age?
• What is the student’s marital status?
• Does the student have dependent children?
• How many people are in the family’s household?
• How many members of the family will be in college next year?
• What is the parents’ combined income?
• What is the student’s income?
The student also answers questions to determine Cost Of Attendance (COA):
• Where does the student plan to live while attending this institution?
• Is the student eligible for in-state/in-district or out-of-state tuition?
A results page shows aid and net price estimates based on prior-year data. The user does not see eligible loans, work-study or military aid as resources to pay for a student’s cost. The student should also be aware that the Federal Net Price Calculator produces an Estimated Family Contribution higher than the FAFSA EFC, and therefore calculates a net cost that is higher than the actual COA. Further, the numbers are based on the tuition and fees for only the institution’s largest program: Practical Nursing.
Please contact the Financial Aid office at (540) 373-2200 for more information about FAFSA and your EFC.
Please contact the Admissions Department office at (540) 373-2200 for more information about enrollment and program costs.
Please refer to the Gainful Employment Disclosures page for costs associated with programs other than
Practical Nursing.
